Midstate Select

Midstate Select is a collection of musicians based out of the very center of the Keystone State, State College, PA. The group began as a side project for up-and-coming local musicians Anna Pearl Belinda (vocals), Sean Heffernan (guitar), and Sam Milz (guitar/vocals). Like many musicians and other performing artists, the sudden onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March of 2020 cleared what had previously been their busy live performance schedules. Fortunately, the challenges of the pandemic were turned into an opportunity to expand and develop new directions for their songwriting. As the group found its sound, Belinda, Heffernan, and Milz enlisted the talents of veteran musician Andy Tolins of the Triple A Blues Band and Sam Christensen of the Carpetland Flux Collective. That lineup, with additional contributions from the members of Triple A and other local musicians, has brought Midstate Select’s debut album into being.

Although members of the band have since moved away so shows are far and few between, Midstate Select’s “On the Road to Lonesome” full length album is available for streaming and download now.
